MEDICAID WAIVER SERVICES
The Medicaid Waiver Program is a long-term care alternative that provides services which enable an individual to remain at home, or return home, rather than receiving Nursing Home care. This can include services from a Case Manager, Homemaker, and Registered Nurse.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- The individual must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be e a permanent resident of WV.
- Must be approved medically eligible for a Nursing Facility Level of Care.
- The individual must have at least 5 deficits on the medical eligibility form. A West Virginia Medical Institute Nurse will make a home visit to the client to determine eligibility.
- Meet the Medicaid Waiver financial eligibility criteria from the program as determined by the county DHHR.
Please note: An individual can receive $1911 per month (based only on the client's income) This does not include the spouses income.
An individual can have $2,000 in assets. A married couple can have combined assets totaling $20,880.00.
Assets can include: land that you do not reside on, stocks, bonds, CD's, Life Insurance Policies, etc.)
Assets do not include the client's primary residence, the home or the property.
